CBI is deeply grateful for any and all financial contributions. Below please find a list of our various funds to which you may donate. We welcome any amount you wish you give, and for amounts over $10 we will gladly post a notice in our Kehila Newsletter and send an “In Honor Of” or “In Memory Of” Message Card to the recipient of your choice. These are available in the CBI Office.
WHEN SENDING DONATIONS TO THE SYNAGOGUE, PLEASE WRITE CHECKS TO CBI AND INDICATE THE NAME OF THE FUND ON THE MEMO LINE OF YOUR CHECK. THIS WILL ENSURE THAT YOUR CONTRIBUTION WILL BE ALLOCATED ACCORDING TO YOUR WISHES. DONATIONS MAY BE MADE IN MEMORY OR IN HONOR OF A LOVED ONE. DONOR MESSAGE CARDS ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE CBI OFFICE. THANK YOU.
Funds will be used to beautify the synagogue.
Funds will be used for the synagogue’s most pressing needs. Operating, building and programming needs are included. Accepts donations as well as enhanced dues.
Benjamin Goldsmith Fund
Donations are used for helping learning disabled children in the Religious School
Bikkur Holim Fund
Donations are used to make gifts from the congregation as a whole to members who are fighting illness. Please send donations to CBI with Bikkur Holim Fund in the memo line
Funds are used for cemetery maintenance and related activities
Daniel & Shirley Levin Education fund
Donations go to assist qualified families with Religious School tuition. Checks made payable to Levin Education Fund should be mailed to CBI.
An endowment used to attract and retain outstanding religious school educators to our Religious School.
Donations help support all educational activities and programs for children and adults at the synagogue.
Minimum contribution $10.00; A $600 contribution (or more) is necessary for a plaque to be affixed in the main lobby. Interest earned is used to defray synagogue operations costs.
Hevrei Mitzvot Fund
Funds used towards gemilut hasadim to honor B’nai Mitzvot students and for worthy endeavors.
Established by the Marmor Family. Funds used to support CBI sponsored trip to Israel, for Yom Ha’atzmaut events and other activities in celebration of Israel.
Committee for Jewish Connections
Provides for programming to celebrate and promote the practice of Judaism.
Sustains the CBI communal garden for multi-generational learning and Tikkun Olam, synagogue events, Survival Center and a space for all. Funds are also used for material purchases for the garden and to be used to pursue matching grants, engage expert support and allow for future growth.
Donations used for purchases and maintenance of CBI’s Kosher Kitchen.
Contributions used to beautify and maintain synagogue grounds. Please send donations to CBI.
Leonard & Bernice Alberts Scholarship Fund
A 10.00 minimum contribution. Funds assists qualified families with Preschool tuition.
Contributions will go toward the purchase of books for the CBI Library.
Preschool Education Fund
Contributions go to the Preschool for equipment and teaching materials. Please make checks out to CBI with Preschool Fund in the memo line and send donations to CBI.
Funds used to procure necessary items that will enhance our services and are not covered by the operating budget.
Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund
Please send donations to CBI.
Sam & Mildred Wolfe Bar/Bat Mitzvah Fund
This fund offsets the cost to families of the private tutoring required in preparation for b’nai mitzvah.Â Â We encourage all families, friends, and relatives to contribute. Please send a minimum donation of $10.00 to CBI. Please make checks payable to CBI with Wolfe Fund in the memo line.
Sandra Goldsmith Endowment Fund
Donations to this fund are used to endow activities for Tikkun Olam (repair of the world).
Shabbat Child Care Fund
Money from this fund helps to provide quality childcare to all who need it (at no charge) during Shabbat services.
Sisterhood All Occasion Fund
$5 minimum contribution. Funds go toward specific synagogue needs as voted upon by the Sisterhood Board. Send checks payable to Sisterhood All Occasion Fund to: Cleo Gorman, 32 Winthrop Street, Northampton, MA 01060. Her phone # is 584-4497. A card will be mailed for any occasion.
Sisterhood Women’s Fund
$5 minimum contribution. Funds are directed to women in need in our community. Send checks payable to Sisterhood Women’s Fund to: Jan Hackman, 37 Prospect Heights, Northampton, MA 01060.
Sue Kurian Kiddush Fund
Donations will be used to enhance our Shabbat services with festive kiddushim.
Tikkun Olam Grants benefit programs that help people in need in the Northampton-Amherst area, in Israel, and occasionally when catastrophes strike in other parts of the world.
Tikkun Olam / Social Justice Action Fund sponsors speakers and special programs that engage members of our congregation to study issues and, mindful of Jewish ethical principles, take action to promote social justice and a peaceful, sustainable world.
Torah Chai Fund
Donations to this fund assist with restoration and repair of CBI’s existing Torah scrolls, and have made possible the purchase of a new Torah.
Fund for engaging in acts of tzedakah (charity and generosity) for the benefit of CBI members.
Valley Jewish Seniors
Fund to help support senior’s activities through CBI. Please send donations to CBI.
Donations used to help fund activities for Kadima, USY and all youth programs.
Yahrzeit (Memorial) Plaque
$500 donation for each name. Make checks payable to CBI Cemetery and send to CBI.
