At CBI, we proudly champion:
* A common future rooted in Jewish education, culture, text, values, and history;
* Diversity of practice, tradition, and spiritual path;
* Reverence for Torah, for each other, for our community, for all people, and for our planet.
To this end, we offer several prayer service options that happen at CBI on a regular basis.
Kabbalat Shabbat Services are weekly in the Sanctuary on Friday evenings from 6:00 – 7:00 pm. Special services (such as Shira Chadasha – a musical Kabbalat service) are held each month.
Each Shabbat morning in the Sanctuary we have our main minyan, led by Rabbi Justin David. Services are from 9:30am to approximately noon. After services, we enjoy a community Kiddush and luncheon together. You are always welcome to join us for Kiddush and lunch, whether you are a member or not, and whether you came to services or not! Please join us – we look forward to seeing you there!
Shabbat Family Minyan, is a monthly, creative, interactive Shabbat service featuring prayers, songs and stories. For school-aged children, their parents, and the community.
Shabbat Shabloom is a monthly, lively Saturday morning program for 3 to 5 year olds and their families. Together we celebrate the beautiful aspects of Shabbat through songs, stories, dance and creative movement.
Contemplative Morning Minyan takes place on select weekdays in the library. In this Minyan, we create a quiet and focused group setting in which each individual may engage in devotion/prayer. Participants sit together for an hour of silence that is punctuated every ten minutes or so by one line of liturgy that guides us through the major rubric of the service. Mourners Kaddish is recited.
We have started a weekly Mincha service each Wednesday at 5:30pm. It’s a Mitzvah to form a Minyan. Those reciting Kaddish will be most appreciative if you do. If you need to form another minyan for Kaddish please contact the CBI office at 413 584-3593 Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm and Friday 8:30am – 2:30pm.
